Beginning of January, I decided once again to participate in Lilla Roger’s Bootcamp. She not only gives us deadlines (which are so important!), she also gives us themes to make us stretch our talents and imagination and feeds us with insights and market trends. On top we get amazing camaraderie and feedback from our classmates.
After familiarizing ourselves with Edwardian bug jewelry the first week, we got our assignment the second week: designing the cover of a journal using our sketches from week 1.
Well, working at the same time on my picture book featuring an elephant, I had more elephants than bugs on my mind, so my idea for my journal was formed easily. Unfortunately, due to a stomach flu that hit my family hard, “Jewel” didn’t make today’s deadline. 😦
You might see her soon from sketch to perfection on my website though, and in the meantime please check out the bootcamp gallery, which will get up on Tuesday.
And talking about Camp, next Friday we’ll have once again our popular PA Day Art Camp for little artists at the Kincardine Legion. For registrations to this or future PA days or our March break art camp, please contact Athina Gatos-Hunter at her 286 Harbour Street Art Store. Phone: 519-396-8463
Stay healthy and tuned.
